Obituary of Margaret Gloria Grant
It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Gloria Grant, announces her passing at the Drew Nursing Home on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Marg passed away peacefully at the age of 87 with her family by her side.
Born on October 27, 1937 in Midgic, NB, she was the daughter of the late Denzel and Mina Hicks.
Marg loved her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There was always a smile on her face when she saw them. Marg will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Marg loved working as an operator at the telephone company in Sackville until it closed. After that, she stayed home until her children were in school, eventually returning to work at Stedman’s Store until her retirement.
Marg will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years, Alexander “Bubsy” Grant; her children, Terry (Debbie), Rosalie (Robin), Michael (Crystal), Bruce (Alison), Chris (Michelle) and Tammy (Dwight); her grandchildren, Jonathan (Stephanie), Benjamin (Vicki), Nicholas (Amanda), Derrick, Tory (Annie), Becky, Alex (Hillary), Hannah, Jessica (Chase), Malachi, Zachary, Cassidy (Brad) and William; her great-grandchildren, Samuel, Landen, Caleb, Isaac, Jake, Moriah, Israel; her siblings, Carol, Anna (Gerry), Inez (Doug), Brian (Mary), Lillian, Vince (Pam), Susan (Bob) as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother, Ernie, as well as by her sister-in-law, (Darlene).
Arrangements are entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Marg’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Campbell’s Funeral Home on January 4, 2025 followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating. A reception will follow the service and all are invited to attend. The burial will take place in the spring in the Westcock Cemetery.
If so desired, donations in memory of Marg may be made to the Main Street Baptist Church, the Drew Nursing Home, the Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
