Obituary of Ghayle M. (Lowther) Ibbitson

It is with deep sadness that the family of Ghayle Meredith Ibbitson announces her passing on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at The Moncton Hospital. Ghayle passed away at the age of 81 with her loving family by her side.

Born on March 6, 1943, in East Leicester. N.S, she was the daughter of the late John Alvin Lowther and Ella Blanche (Hollis).

Ghayle was an animal lover, enjoyed knitting for the grandchildren, making bread, baking and she loved family reunions. She loved secondhand shopping and would spend a whole day going from shop to shop with family and friends, sharing laughs all along the way, Ghayle had a smile that lit up the room, the biggest heart and she always gave more than she asked for. Her family was the most important part of her life, and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Ghayle will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Austin Ibbitson, her children, Roxamy Ibbitson (Nanette Robichaud), Dale (Elise) Ibbitson, Pamela Ibbitson, Shawna Lane (Dave Ayles), Todd Ibbitson (Elena Rimski) and Tanya (Travis) Saulnier; her thirteen grandchildren, her ten great-grandchildren, her half-brother, Kenny Spicer, her cat Cheeky, as well as by her extended family and many friends.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her two sons-in-law, Kevin Lane and Shannon Voss, as well as by her daughter-in-law, Alice Williams.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and the staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. Visiting hours will take place at the funeral home on Monday, August 5th, 2024, from 1-4 pm.
