Obituary of Tim Purdy

DORCHESTER, N.B. – It is with great sadness that the family of Tim Purdy, 67, of Dorchester, N.B., announce his passing on July 9, 2024, peacefully in his sleep.

Tim was born in Springhill, Nova Scotia on December 9, 1956.

Tim leaves behind the love of his life, Sharon (Crossman) Purdy; his children, James (Chrissy) Morice, Tonia (Steve Gilbert) Morice, Stacey (Kyle) Workman and Mike (Steffy Sosa) Purdy; his grandchildren, Matthew, Wyatt, Wesley, Maxwell and Cameron. He was also survived by his brothers, Stephen and Michael (Lorrie) Purdy along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Tim was pre-deceased by his parents, Hubert and Ida Purdy; his brothers, Dick and Peter Purdy; his nephew, Jeremy Purdy, as well as by his mother-in-law, Grace Crossman.

Tim loved to play guitar, drive fast cars, and party hard but much of that gave way to spending time with his family and loving every minute that he spent with his kids and his grandkids.

Tim and Sharon had an open-door policy for friends and family and held kitchen parties that were second to none, always with multiple instruments (usually guitars) being played with several people singing along. They often hosted family get togethers with their house full of songs and stories always ending with our best rendition of Hotel California.

Tim performed in many bands and never gave up his love for playing guitar, loving many genres of music.

The family would like to thank the Dorchester Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick and the RCMP who responded in our time of need.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Sackville (506) 364-8188. An informal Celebration of Life will take place at Campbell’s Funeral Home in Sackville, N.B. on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 2 – 4pm, with family and friends sharing memories at 3:30pm. Burial to follow in the Dorchester Rural Cemetery.

Donations to the Bob Edgett Memorial Boxing Club Inc. (BUILDING FUND) or to the charity of your choice in memory of Tim would be greatly appreciated. On-line condolences and sharing of memories may be forwarded to the family through our website www.campbellsfuneralhome.com or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page.
