Dear Jean,
It is with such sadness that we learned of Roland's passing. He was truly a wonderful person. Tom and I have such lovely memories of our times with Roland and you. Roland's contributions to conversations were always so interesting and his gentleness of spirit was so welcoming. The roses of spring and summer will forever remind us of Roland.
Our truly heartfelt thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.

Dear Jean and family we were so sorry to read Rollie’s passing today. It was alway a pleasure to meet him and have a great chat here in Sackville or at the Y in Amherst. Since COVID we haven’t had those great chats, but think of you both often. May your wonderful memories help you through the days ahead. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of Roland Crooks, a friend and former colleague of David’s at Mount Allison University from 1977 to 1983. We have kept in touch with Roland and Jean over the years since then although residents of Tokyo, Japan for 28 years. On return summer visits to Nova Scotia we were able to visit Roland and Jean at their historic home along the Northumberland Shore. Regrettably we were not able to visit them in Amherst due to health issues of our own. Roland provided tremendous support to us while at Mount Allison as did Jean in respect to family affairs. We remain forever grateful for their friendship and mentorship and join the many who deeply mourn Roland’s passing. He continues to live through those of us who had the privilege of calling him colleague and friend. David and Zenora Rackham
