Obituary of Dolly Lynn Phinney Hicks

Sackville, N.B.- It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Dolly Phinney Hicks on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at The Moncton Hospital. Dolly passed away at the age of 49, with her loving family by her side. Born on February 21, 1967 in Sackville, N.B. she was the daughter of the late Helen Ruth(Lowerison) and Franklin Harvey Phinney. Dolly was employed with The Westmorland Animal Hospital in Sackville for over 20 years and she loved her job. She was an animal lover and was especially fond of her cats. Dolly had a kind heart, warm smile and she will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. Dolly will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 22 years, Wayne Wilfred Hicks of Sackville, N.B. and their son, Dylan Hicks of Sackville, N.B.; her sister, Tracy Phinney (Richard Crowley) of Moncton, N.B.; her nieces, Hayley and Heidi; her step-children, Tyler Hicks of Toronto, Ontario and Brittany Hicks of Moncton, N.B. as well as by her step-granddaughter, Carly Mabie of Moncton, N.B. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her mom and dad, Ross and Verta (Kay) Phinney. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Dolly’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. Her burial will take place in the Midgic Cemetery at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dolly may be made to CARMA Sackville Chapter or to the charity of one’s choice.
