Obituary of Sarah Elizabeth (MacKenzie) Dobson

It is with deep sadness that the family of Sarah Elizabeth Dobson announces her passing on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the Moncton Hospital. Sarah passed away at the age of 82 with her loving family by her side.

 

Born in Amherst, N.S. on November 2, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Alma (Perry) and Lawrence William MacKenzie.

 

Sarah’s family was everything to her and she greatly enjoyed cooking for and with her grandchildren, always making whatever treat they desired. She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. Sarah enjoyed travelling, with her last big trip being to Newfoundland, as well as going camping. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

Sarah will be lovingly remembered by five children, Margaret Rayworth, James Arthur Dobson, Ann Marie Dobson (Hector MacIntosh), Michael Edward (May) Dobson, Marlene Elizabeth (Bruce) Haynes of Tidnish, N.S.; her brothers and sisters, Thelma Arsenault, Alma Robinson, Judy MacKenzie (Carl LeBlanc), Stewart (Mary) MacKenzie, Phillip (Sheila) Mackenzie, Alice (Ralph) O’Brien and Sue-Ellen MacKay; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Donna MacKenzie and Peggy MacKenzie, as well as by and many nieces and nephews.

 

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, James Walter Dobson in 2010; her daughter, Paula Louise Dobson in 2012; her brothers, Bernie, David and Darryl; her grandson, Warren Jason Goodwin, as well as by her sister-in-law, Debbie MacKenzie.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Sarah’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. A graveside service will take place in the spring in the Baie Verte Cemetery, Baie Verte, N.B.
