Obituary of Marilyn Joyce HalfKenny
Port Elgin, N.B.- It is with deep sadness, that the family of Marilyn Joyce Halfkenny, announces her passing at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center in Amherst, N.S., on Friday, July 3, 2015. Marilyn was 68 years of age.
Born on September 15, 1946 in Cape Spear, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Daisy (Burns) Trenholm.
Marilyn enjoyed gardening, walks on the beach and being outdoors. She adored her grandchildren and was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Lionel Halfkenny; two daughters, Mary Jo Murray of Baie Verte, N.B. and Melanie Murray (Kevin Hutton) of Ontario and their father, James L. Murray of Timber River, N.B.; eight grandchildren, Alexis, Teegan, Olin, Casey, Jamieson, Adelaide, Charlie and Carly; two brothers, Keith Trenholm, of Saint John, N.B. and Thomas (Nancy) Trenholm of Brookdale, N.S; two sisters, Joan (Ray) Pauley of Bayside, N.B. and Ouida Duguay of Shemogue, N.B.; sister-in-law, Jean Trenholm of Ontario and by many nieces and nephews. Marilyn will also be fondly remembered by the Halfkenny family.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Vaughn, Donald and Dana; brother-in-law, Abel Duguay and by her sisters-in-law, Patricia Trenholm and Beatrice Trenholm.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Marilyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. The burial will take place in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin, N.B. at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marilyn may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
