Obituary of Lewis J. Hicks

It is with great sadness that the family of Lewis J, Hicks announces his passing on Monday, September 15, 2025. Lewis passed away peacefully at the age of 81 at Shannex-Gordon Hall, Moncton, NB. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff at Gordon Hall.

 

Born in Sackville, NB on December 11, 1943, he was the son of the late Judson Hicks and Elsie (Stokes).

 

Lewis worked at Fawcett and Enterprise Foundries, and he retired from Moloney Electric as a welder. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and horses and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

 

Lewis will be lovingly remembered by his wife of  sixty three years, Ruth (Amos) Hicks; his children, Sally Hicks (Larry), Stephen Hicks (Pauline) and Sheila Levesque (Jason); his grandchildren, Samantha Hicks-Saulnier (Kevin), Joseph Hicks, Meghan Hicks, Jacob Hicks and Tye Levesque; his four great-grandchildren, Sylas, Adelyn, Lyllian and Leona; his nephews, Terry Hicks of Dorchester, Laurie Hicks of Dorchester, NB and Brian Hicks of Alberta; his niece, Gail Hicks of Moncton, NB, as well as by his extended family and friends.

 

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother, Leaman Hicks (Carol).

 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville NB (506)364-8188. In keeping with Lewis’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.

 

If so desired, memorial donations in memory of Lewis may be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick or to the charity of one’s choice.
